William Jeffrey Jones Proteus Electric Guitar
Here is another killer guitar from William Jeffrey Jones Guitars. This guitar is called Proteus. The back of this guitar is just extraordinary. The neck heel just looks incredibly comfortable to play and really adds a nice visual touch to the back of the guitar. Actually, my favorite part of this guitar is the back. If I owned this guitar, I would probably hang it on my wall hanger backwards so I could look at the back of the guitar all the time.
The Proteus guitar features a unique carved tailpiece, ebony bridge block, and brass pin saddles. The volume and tone knobs are also hand carved to match the design of the bridge. William Jeffrey Jones is one of the most unique builders and he continues to set the bar very high when it comes to the design and beauty of his instruments. You can bet I will be featuring many more of his beautiful guitars!

Guitarist Az Samad got the chance to play the Proteus from William Jeffrey Jones Guitars while at the Healdsburg Guitar Festival and had this to say about it:
“The Proteus is one of the very best electric guitars I’ve ever played. Not only is the design beautiful and comfortable to play, the clarity of the sound brings out each note that I played like separate voices in a vocal quartet. The harmony comes out rich and united, yet each note has a great vocal quality to it. The guitar responded well to single-note playing as well as more contrapuntal solo jazz guitar work. I couldn’t stop playing it and it made me want to keep making music. Truly, any instrument that can inspire creativity is special and this is definitely unique. Kudos to Jeffrey for putting so much love into his work.”
